Size & Life Span
Crested Geckos live an average life span of 15-20 years, that is over a decade!
Adults weigh between 40 and 60 grams full grown. Snout to vent length is typically 4 Inches long.

Housing
Crested Geckos are an arboreal species meaning they need tall over wide enclosures. We recommend an 18x18x24 glass enclosure or a tub equal to that space for an adult. Hatchlings/Juveniles should be housed in a smaller enclosure and be upgraded as they gain weight. Vertical climbing spaces are a must when it comes to furnishing their enclosures. Lots of foliage and climbing spaces should be present. Hanging hides with vines are a good idea as well. We recommend everyone to use paper towel as a substrate when starting out but you can use Eco Earth to better maintain humidity
Diet
Crested Geckos do best on a prepared fruit mix called CGD or Crested Gecko Diet. Repashy and Pangea both make exceptional diets to start with. But many more good diets are starting to be produced. Always be careful picking a new diet because some are not a complete diet and can cause health issues if used as such. Although insects are not required. They help stimulate hunting behavior and juveniles will gain weight faster when given insects. We suggest feeding the prepared diets every other day and crickets/Dubia once a week. Make sure to gut load insects & dust with a calcium supplement.
Water
Be sure to mist daily as Crested Geckos will drink water droplets off walls/decor. Also provide a small/shallow water dish.
Heating/Lighting
UVB for Crested Geckos is not necessary but it does provide good benefits to them when used. You can provide a day and night cycle with regular lighting but make sure it DOES NOT emit heat. Typically room temperature is perfect for these guys (72-80 Degrees). They cannot tolerate high heat for extended periods of time. Make sure to always have a digital Thermometer and Hygrometer to monitor both humidity and temperature.
Humidity
Humidity should be 50% to 80%. They require a dry out period where the tank should be around 50%(and be dry from water) and a high humidity (preferably at night) of around 80%. Misting 1-2 times a day should accomplish this. Shedding issues will arise if humidity is not monitored.
